Cyber risk insurance

Cyber risk insurance compensates any losses related to the damage, loss, leak or disclosure of data as a result of hacker attacks, computer viruses, human error or faulty software.

The scope of the insurance is as follows:

Civil liability, i.e. covering the losses of third parties due to the disclosure of personal information or confidential data belonging to contractors, including:

  • the payment of damages to third parties due to the disclosure of personal information or confidential data belonging to contractors,
  • covering the costs of IT specialists and IT system repairs, including IT investigations,
  • costs of recovering the lost data, access, IT network security
  • costs of legal support,
  • costs of crisis management,
  • costs of public relations.

The administrative responsibility before the General Inspector for Personal Data Protection, including covering losses and penalties resulting from regulations on the protection of personal data, including GDPR:

  • covering the costs of defence in administrative and criminal proceedings,
  • covering administrative penalties imposed by the General Inspector for Personal Data Protection, including under GDPR,
  • covering the costs of IT specialists, including computer investigations,
  • covering the costs of informing the persons to whom the data pertain of any leaks.

Breach of network security:

  • covering own costs resulting from the damage or loss of own data due to:
  • malicious software, cybersquatting, phishing, backdoors,
  • hacker attacks,
  • unauthorised use,
  • DOS attack,
  • human error,
  • software error.

Covering IT assistance costs, including: costs of removing malicious software, data recovery, system access recovery.

 

Covering the costs of cyber ransomeware- covering the costs resulting from hacker attacks, including costs of ransom. Covering the costs of damage to third parties related to insufficient security of own IT system resulting from, among other things:

  • malicious software infections,
  • data encryption,
  • lack of access to data,
  • attack towards other enitities made with the use of the system.

Business interruption – covering the costs of standstill resulting from the IT incident:

  • covering the costs of lost income during the downtime/standstill,
  • covering the costs of containing losses and increased business expenses

Civil liability for publication using electronic media, on websites, portals etc.
