CAR/EAR Insurance

Construction All Risks/Erection All Risk (CAR/EAR) This insurance covers contract work comprising the value of the construction work being performed, all materials used, construction equipment together with the temporary construction site facility, and as regards assembly risks, also damage to property on the site where the assembly is being done.

Other riders that can be added include Advance Loss of Profit All Risks.

Contractors’ Plant and Machinery is particularly recommended for machines and equipment operated at different construction sites during the insurance term.

Machinery Breakdown covers damage arising when a machine breaks down because of wrong materials, error in assembly, faulty performance, short circuit, foreign object in the machine’s mechanism. This cover can be extended to include Machinery Loss of Profit.
